From 2015 to 2019 the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, starred in a Television series called Servant of the People.
He played the character of a regular guy who unexpectedly became President after ranting about corruption. The show was produced by Studio Kvartal 95.
In 2019, Zelensky became the real President of Ukraine after ranting about corruption.
Several other actors and producers of the TV Series and the Studio then went on to work in Zelenky’s Government. They are:
Serhiy Shefir, the founder, producer and script writer for Studio Kvartal 95. He served as the President’s first assistant (Presidential Aide) in Zelenky’s Government.
Ivan Bakanov, the longtime head of Studio Kvartal 95. was appointed Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in 2019.
Andriy Yermak was a film producer for Studio Kvartal 95. He became Head of the Presidential Office (Chief of Staff) in 2020. He resigned in 2025 over corruption scandals regarding energy sector kickbacks.
Yuriy Koryavchenkov was a comedian and actor in Kvartal 95 shows. He became a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Servant of the People Party in 2019.
Yuriy Kostyuk was a comedy writer and producer for Studio Kvartal 95. He was a writer for Zelensky’s TV Show “Servant of the People”. In 2019 he was appointed to Government as Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and later as a speech writer for the President.
Oleksandr Pikalov, a comedian for Kvartal 95, was appointed National Guard of Ukraine under Zelensky.
Serhiy Trofimov was an excecutive producer at Studio Kvartal 95 between 2005 and 2019. Then in 2019 he was appointed First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration for the Zelensky Government.
Yevhen Koshevoy, a prominent comedian and actor of Studio Kvartal 95 appeared appeared as a “celebrity supporting Zelensky” in Zelenky’s public speeches.
Olena Kravets, actress of Studio Kvartal 95 made several “celebrity endorsements” of the President, appearing alongside him in public appearances.
There are several more but this sampling is enough to make my point.
The current Ukrainian Government has been involved in war with Russia for half a decade and is made up of comedians, actors, script-writers and film producers.
These people have no background in politics, law, military, warfare, intelligence or diplomacy. But the voters of Ukraine, the news-media and the U.S. Government that has sent them Billions in foreign aid and all the Democrats waving Ukraine-flags appear not to see a problem with any of this.
Meanwhile the regular people of Ukraine report that their sons and daughters are being killed by the hundreds of thousands.
If you think politics made by actors and script-writers only applies to Ukraine, you’re mistaken. The ruling elite know that what people see on screen forms their perception of reality.
When Kennedy and Nixon debated on the Radio, Nixon won the debate because he was perceived as more intelligent. But when the two debated on Television, Kennedy won because he was better looking and had excellent body language. Since those early days of TV, the person with the best acting skills, best body language, camera-presence and charisma becomes President, regardless of whether they’re qualified.
If politics ever seemed like a scripted, episodic movie to you with plenty of fake drama and contrived conflicts, that’s because it is.
You are watching a movie.
