A breakaway civilization is a group of people who were fed up with our “way of life” and went their own way. Their consciousness is too high or too low to interact with our society. Where did they go? Some are rumored to have gone off-world, below the earth, “beyond the south pole”, into mountains, onto islands or hidden continents. Some breakaway civilizations didn’t go anywhere, they live among us but by their own rules.
Ancient “Lemurians” inside Mount Shasta
A “legend” or “folktale” that has persisted is that there is a secret civilization of people living around and inside Mount Shasta, CA. I take it seriously because there have been rumors and sightings in the 1800s, 1900s and in the present day 2000s.
As an example of these rumors I present an article from a now defunct 1947 magazine. I believe this story to be partially true but the author’s and editor’s interpretations to be false. The story is told from an occultism-lens and this lens is fraught with falsehood.
Just one example: Theosophists, Rosicrucians and Freemasons of the time were enamored by tales of “Atlantis” and “Lemuria” and bedazzled by learning supposed “ancient mystical secrets”. The belief that they were especially enlightened went along with self-importance and self-importance creates blinders. I too once believed that the lost pre-cataclysm civilization was called “Atlantis” and “Lemuria”. But today I know that old America was simply the lost civilization of Tartary (see my research on this website). But regardless of misinterpretations, this document is a typical example of a “strange people” with advanced knowledge and skills being encountered in the wilderness.
The cut scar on the forehead is not that “mysterious” if one is familiar with the customs of the ancients. It was practiced among the Inuit of Canada and Alaska (Tartarians), the Maori, Aborigines, tribes in Africa, etc. as a “coming of age” ritual.
The Village of Sisson is now called Mount Shasta. The train station is in a town now called Dunsmuir. In trying to find the location, I traced their travel time and determined that the first cabin they reached must have been somewhere around what is today called McCloud. But after that the trail vanishes because with the amount of time they traveled, they could have ended up anywhere on either side of the mountain.
Breakaway societies are naturally elusive. They don’t want to be found or interact with our world. Anyone who encounters them does so because he or she has reached a state of consciousness that resonates with the breakaway people. Like attracts like.
Alternative 3
The most popular conspiracy-theory around elites secretly going off-world and forming their own breakaway civilization is “Alternative 3”.
To avert humanity’s extinction, a secret international cabal of governments and elites have reportedly devised three “alternatives”:
Alternative 1 were geoengineering and weather manipulation efforts, to ward off cataclysmic changes or disasters. The elites know about the floods, mudfloods and ancient wars discussed on this website.
Alternative 2 was building massive underground bunkers in which to hide during earth changes, wars or nuclear disasters. This is, of course being done already. Parts of the U.S. military could be considered “breakaway civilizations” with their worldwide network of underground installations and facilities. Similar was said of the Nazi military who allegedly created underground submarine tunnels and stations in the Antarctic long after World War II was over. In fact, many Nazis formed communities in South America. To give you an example of this I’d like to present this screenshot I made of a remote region in Paraguay:
Notice anything? Yeah, most of those town names are German language. Lichtfelde, Gnadenheim, Friedensruh, Blumengard, Hochfeld, Osterwick, Waldesruh, Bergfeld, Weidenfeld, Schonau and others are German, not Spanish as you would expect from a Paraguayan setting. What’s going on here? Well, it’s a breakaway civilization. These towns were founded by Russian immigrants but took in many former Nazis after World War II. Wait…Russian immigrants? Then why the German names? Because these Russian Immigrants were German-speaking Mennonites. Mennonites are similar to the Amish, both of which are open breakaway civilizations. The Mossad was so concerned about former Nazis migrating to South America that they sent their agents to Peru, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile to assassinate as many as possible. And so the Nazis mingled in and disguised themselves as Mennonite locals.
Alternative three was the secret colonization of space, of the Moon and of Mars. Conspiracy theorists claim these things have already happened and that there are off-earth breakaway civilizations that are far ahead of us technologically. This might explain why at least some of those “UFOs” people report, appear to be piloted by humans.
Mountain Militia
Some breakaway civilizations hide in mountains. The mountains between Montana and Idaho, for example, are rumored to harbor anti-government and anti-NWO militia. Montana already has the most militia of any state, among them the well-known “Montana Militia”, but in addition to that, there are rumored to be secret militia that have carved out hideaways, stations and operating centers inside mountains.
Specifically the Bitterroot Mountains beyond the Montana towns of Darby, Hamilton and Missoula and the Idaho towns around Kooskia. These areas are already known as the most Libertarian and rugged in the U.S.
Hikers and townspeople have reported strange barbed wires, trap doors, camouflaged cave doors, unexplained night lights, movement of arms and other anomalies that point toward secret militia projects around and in the remote and unpopulated mountains. Locals report heavily armed people in the woods, underground bunkers stocked with supplies and weapons and gunfire in areas where there are supposedly no people. Sighting locations: Blodgett Canyon, Nez-Perce-Pass, Selway River Corridor in Idaho, Lolo Peak. Some people have claimed that the militia have repurposed abandoned mines in the area.
Damanhur
The Federation of Damanhur was a breakaway civilization in northern Italy. I say “was” because their secrecy unraveled in the late 1990s. To outside observers this “eco-village” is a commune of environmentally-conscious new-agers. They are located across several villages north of Turin, Italy. They have their own currency and grow food self-sufficiently. Sovereign citizens! Sounds good, right?
But a deeper dive into the workings of the commune reveals weird and perhaps creepy things. The founder, Oberto Airaudi, who died of cancer in 2013 had built a secret temple or town inside a mountain from the 1970s onwards. The public would have never found out about it if it weren’t for leaked court documents in a tax evasion case against Airaudi. Thus they were forced to reveal at least one of their inner-earth projects to mankind. They called it “Temple of Humankind” and turned it into a lucrative tourist attraction.

Damanhur is considered “the biggest underground temple in the world”, but that’s because all the others aren’t known. This kind of thing is more common than people know. And how could they keep it secret for so long? They must have had plenty of funding and protection from higher up.
The creepy aspect, as reported by those who have escaped the cult, is that higher initiates appeared to worship and interact with various spirits and gods including Horus. I was looking at photos of one of their Hotels in the town of Cuceglio and found this:
Belial, according to the Bible, is an alternative word for Satan. I found much more of “this kind of thing” but will spare you the details. As so often in “mystery schools” higher initiates are instructed to interact with “spirits” and solicit their help in black magick rituals that are practiced on their enemies. Ex-members of Damanhur describe rituals performed against those who dared leave the cult.

It’s unfortunate that this kind of thing often lurks behind do-gooder facades, I’m aware of many other similar set-ups.
Yes, of course the excavation and artwork are remarkable. Yes, it’s great to grow your own food and use your own currency and make your own rules. But there were also elements of fraud and exploitation involved. Gullible followers are asked to give all of their money and all their belongings to the collective when they join.
Cults that build large dwellings underground do so to be closer to their underworld, subterranean spirits and “gods”, which are lower-astrals (demons). This is one of the widespread but largely unknown realities of our world.
Old Order Amish
The Amish, the Mennonites and other Anabaptists are an example of a parallel society, a “breakaway civilization” that lives among us. Except, they live in a completely different consciousness and might as well live in another world. Old order Amish don’t use electricity, modern technology or cars. Some researchers have suggested that the Amish serve as a “control group” in secret mass-population experiments such as covid vaccines, as they are not prone to participating in what everyone else is doing.
I recall meditating at a remote waterfall one day when a large group of Amish men and women arrived. It was a bit of a culture-shock because they all looked fantastically healthy compared to the average American. There was no obesity. All had strong bone structures and well defined facial features, shiny white teeth, natural muscle, spotless skin and full hair. In watching them I began questioning where our society had gone wrong. I can’t blame them for being a breakaway civilization.
Many Amish people speak German because they derive from Switzerland and Germany. Their German sounds old, ancient.
They are the best example of a KNOWN breakaway civilization.
Giants of Underground Malta
This is from an old, out-of-print book “The Reality of the Underground Cavern World” by Riley Crabb.
In my previous books I’ve identified “the Giants” as a breakaway civilization. Tales such as these remind us that they still live nearby but mostly under Earth, as if in hiding.
Other breakaway groups
Here are a few more breakaway civilizations I’m aware of within the U.S. that I haven’t researched but which might be worth looking into:
The Adirondack Lost Colony, a 19th-century utopian-religious dissident group that vanished into hidden valleys or caves in the Adirondack Mountains, evading detection and surviving as a stealthy enclave.
In my view, a group of people becomes a “breakaway” civilization once their consciousness falls below or above that of “normal” mass consciousness. In the case of some Amish or the “Lemurians” the consciousness appears to be above ours. In the case of the man-eating Giants or vampire cults, the consciousness seems to be below ours. Sometimes the consciousness is neither above nor below mass-consciousness but horizontally too different from ours, such as with the mountain militia. It is said that once a certain level of knowledge is gained (or security clearance accessed), one can no longer take “normal society” seriously. When that happens, alternative civilizations are sought.
There are people who don’t want to be found or seen and don’t wish to interact. Search “camouflaged houses” and you’ll see what I mean.
But the Amish seem to know that they don’t have to hide or act secretive to avoid normal society. They don’t energetically resonate with us commoners, so they rarely encounter or interact with us. No need for hiding. Thus, many things are “hidden in plain sight” and only become visible once the person awakens to the possibility or a certain frequency-band. Before that, one cannot “see it”.
